Walt Whitman Houses

The Walt Whitman Houses are a housing project in the Fort Greene neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York. They were named after the 19th century poet Walt Whitman, who lived and worked in Brooklyn.

The Whitman Houses were completed in 1944 with 15 different buildings and a population of over 4,000 people.[1]

Notable former residence include Ol' Dirty Bastard and Dana Dane.[2]
