WQLZ (97.7 FM) is a radio station broadcasting an active rock format, licensed to Petersburg, Illinois, United States. The station serves the Springfield, IL area and is currently owned by Long Nine, Inc.[1]

History

The station went on the air as WLUJ on 1986-01-24. On 2001-08-10, the station changed its call sign to WLGM, on 2002-02-12 to WYVR, on 2007-02-17 to WLCE, and on 2015-09-04 to the current WQLZ[2]

On August 24, 2015, WLCE flipped to active rock, temporarily simulcasting WQLZ, as "Real Rock 97.7 QLZ", On September 4, WQLZ moved permanently to 97.7.[3]

The station features the 3rd String Morning Show with Styles & Kaytie, Kyle in afternoons, and nights with Harddrive XL.
