WELF-TV, virtual channel 23 (UHF digital channel 16), is a TBN owned-and-operated television station serving Chattanooga, Tennessee, United States that is licensed to Dalton, Georgia. Owned by the Trinity Broadcasting Network, the station maintains studio and transmitter facilities on SR 157 in Rising Fawn, Georgia.

History

The station began operations on May 10, 1994. Outside of limited local programming in its history, WELF has mainly carried TBN's national service without deviation.

This station's digital signal, like most other full-service TBN owned-and-operated stations, carries five different TBN-run networks.

TBN-owned full-power stations permanently ceased analog transmissions on April 16, 2009.[1]

WELF-TV shut down its analog signal, over UHF channel 23, on that date. The station's digital signal remained on its pre-transition UHF channel 16.[2] Through the use of PSIP, digital television receivers display the station's virtual channel as its former UHF analog channel 23.
