WBBZ 1230 AM is a radio station licensed to Ponca City, Oklahoma. The station broadcasts an adult contemporary format and is owned by Sterling Broadcasting, LLC.[2] WBBZ began broadcasting at 7:00 PM on January 30, 1928, from the Poncan Theatre in Ponca City, Oklahoma.[1]
History
WBBZ was a charter member of the Oklahoma Network when it was formed in 1937.[3]
On September 12, 2018 WBBZ changed their format from classic hits to adult contemporary, branded as "Sunny 1230"(format moved from sister station KQSN 104.7 FM Ponca City, which switched to country).[4]
