Vitaliy Yuriyovych Khomutynnik (Ukrainian: Віта́лій Ю́рійович Хомути́ннік, born 4 August 1976)[1] is the Ukrainian businessman and politician.

Early life and education

Born on August 4, 1976 in Makeevka, Donetsk region. He graduated from the Donetsk State Academy of Management in the field of finance and credit. Second higher education got at the Yaroslav the Wise National Law Academy of Ukraine.

Business career

In 1993 Vitaliy Khomutynnik founded his first business - a private company “Cascade”. Since then, by developing and investing into fast-growing spheres of Ukrainian economy, a private company was transformed into operating nowadays Cascade Investment Fund.

Primary focus of Cascade Investment Fund is investment in agricultural sector, insurance, finance, gas extraction business, real estate and others. Cascade Investment Fund based in Kiev (and has office in London (UK).

According to the annual ratings of Forbes Ukraine and Focus Ukraine magazines Vitaliy Khomutynnik is included in the TOP-30 richest people in Ukraine.

Social and political activities

Vitaliy Khomutynnik was elected to the Parliament for the first time by majority district in his native city Makeevka (Donetsk Region) in 2002. Representing the Party of Regions was elected to Ukrainian Parliament 3 times (in 2006, 2007 and 2012). During these years he was a chairman of important parliamentary committees – Committee of finance and banking policy, Committee of tax and customs policy.

In February 2014 he left Party of Regions, organized parliamentary group “Economic Development” and became it`s co-chairman. Later in 2014 was elected to the Parliament by majority district in Kharkov, organized parliamentary group “Revival”, where he is now a co-chairman.

Vitaliy Khomutynnik is also actively engaged in public activities. He is on the board of several public and charitable organizations.

Family

Married. He and his wife Svetlana have two children – son and daughter.

Honored Economist of Ukraine (2010). Candidate of Legal Sciences.
