Vishwa Bandhu Gupta, popularly known as Vishwa Bandhu, is an Indian social activist and a prominent leader in the 2011 Indian anti-corruption movement. He is a former Indian Revenue Service officer,[1] who previously served in the Income Tax Department and was suspended as an additional Commissioner[1]

Opposition of VDIS Scheme

Gupta then working as an additional commissioner of Income Tax, made an allegation on an unnamed former Indian Cricket Captain to have declared ₹ 160000 Million in the Voluntary Disclosure of Income Scheme in 1997. However he was later suspended from his post on disciplinary grounds.[2]

Youtube Interviews

In a playlist of interviews widely viewed on YouTube, Mr. Gupta talks about various subjects related to corruption, political and scams in India. He is against the use of Cloud Computing and storage of user data in the Cloud.

It is evident that his videos consist not of fact but of misapprehensions of a baby boomer. Furthermore, the lack of understanding of technology is apparent in his interviews of cloud computing, where Mr. Gupta seems to believe, among other things, that data is stored in actual clouds in the sky and that data you store on your phone will be 'transmitted' into your phone's batteries.[3]And he also said that for the case when the storm comes the data could be lost. The whole topic of Cloud Computing is explained wrongly by him.

The other interviews on his channel touch upon subjects like

  1. Talks with my Guru – by Ramandeep Singh Malhotra
  2. TEDdy talks with Ramandeep and Vishwa
  3. Cloud CDing – Ramandeep Singh[4]
  4. 2G spectrum case,
  5. Oil Price Scam in India[5]
  6. Politicians and their Black money in Swiss Banks[6]
  7. Coal mining Scam[7][8]
