Vishal Dhankhar is an ultra runner from Haryana, India. After his schooling from sports school Motilal Nehru School of Sports, Rai, he started running ultras in his college days. He has 2 world records to his name: first record 70.9 km [1] and second record 107 km.[2]

Early life and education

Dhankhar was born in a Jat family. He was first of two children born to father Prem Dhankhar and mother Darshana. His father is a businessman and mother a government teacher in secondary school. As a child he attended MDN public school Rohtak, then after 3rd standard he was shifted to MNSS RAI. He completed a bachelor in business administration in 2014.

Career

Dhankhar began running ultras during his last year of college. In 2013 and 2014, he participated in 7 marathons and attempted 2 endurance events.[3] He was involved in equestrian and lawn tennis. He also earned 6 bronze medals in show jumping and dressage in boarding school under the aegis of Equestrian Federation of India National Tournament.[4].
