Vincent Desiderio (born 1955) is an American realist painter.[1] In 2005 he was on the teaching staff at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts;[2] he is a senior critic at the New York Academy of Art.[3]
Biography
Desiderio was born in 1955, in Pennsylvania.[2] He studied at Haverford College in Haverford, Pennsylvania; at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia; and at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Florence, Italy.[2] In 1984 he joined the P.S. 1 Contemporary Art Center in New York City.[2]
His work was shown at the Marlborough Gallery in New York in 2004,[2] and is held by the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.[4]
Desiderio’s painting Sleep was a source of inspiration for the video "Famous" by Kanye West.[3]
