Vice Chief of the Air Staff (India)
The Vice Chief of the Air Staff (VCAS) a PSO (Principal Staff Officer) at Air Headquarters at New Delhi, who is second in command of the Indian Air Force. He is responsible for operation and flying related tasks. The post of Vice Chief of Air Staff is equivalent in status to Commander-in-Chief (AOC-in-C) of an Indian Air Force Command. [1] As of October 2018, the post was held by Air Marshal Anil Khosla .[2] He succeeded Air Marshal Shirish Baban Deo as the Vice Chief of the Air Staff (VCAS), after his retirement on 30 September 2018. As Vice Chief, Air Marshal Anil Khosla will directly be in charge of IAF’s ongoing capability build-up and visualizing its future technology requirements.
