Velleia paradoxa or spur velleia[3][4][5] is a small, softly pubescent perennial herb in the Goodeniaceae family, endemic to Australia and found in South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria, New South Wales and southern Queensland.[6][7] It grows in sclerophyll forest and grassland.[6][3] It has oval to elliptical leaves which are from 7–25 centimetres (3–10 in) long and flowers mainly from August to February.[6]

The species was first described as Velleia paradoxa by the botanist Robert Brown in 1810 [1][2] and the name has never been revised.[2]. It has two varieties: V. paradoxa var. humilis DC., Prodr. 7(2): 518 (1839), and V. paradoxa var. stenoptera F.Muell. ex Benth., Fl. Austral. 4: 48 (1868). [6]
