Vardhaman College of Engineering

Vardhaman College of Engineering was established in 1999. It is one of the top 10 engineering colleges in Hyderabad. It is affiliated with Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad (JNTUH),^[1] and was approved by AICTE, New Delhi. It is accredited by National Board of Accreditation^[2] and also by National Assessment and Accreditation Council(3.24/4).Recently UGC,^[3] (university grants commission) awarded autonomous status to the college for 6 years.

It is located about 10 kilometers from Shamshabad, Hyderabad in Telangana, India.

Campus

This is one of the fastest growing colleges in the city of Hyderabad. It is in a serene location in the outskirts of the city. The college has new state-of-the-art auditorium, seminar hall, library and a separate building for the placement cell. It has an excellent transportation facility with around 32 buses to all the parts of the city.It is also known as one of the most strict colleges as some of the rules make no sense but still are implied to satisfy the authorities.

Events

The college conducts two events in every year

• TECHNOLITES-A national level technical symposium is conducted by the students of VCE in the month of October.It includes many technical events and

workshops by eminent professors.

• ORTUS -The annual day celebrations of VCE conducted in the month of march consists of two days first day is the traditional day and second day

is the annual day.A lot of sports events are conducted before the ORTUS and the winners are awarded.

Memorandum of Understanding's

VCE signed MOU'S with many organisations including SAP, Infosys, IBM, Cadence, National Instruments, IUCEE, Oracle, UMASS-ASEE, Cisco, TCS, and Tech Mahindra.

Infrastructure

In order to take care of aesthetic dimensions of the campus, considerable efforts have been made in the recent past to beautify the campus. Greenery in terms of the grass, permanent green plants, trees and flowers have been laid down all over the campus. Horticulture maintenance and development has been meticulously monitored to keep up with the changing weather.

VCE provides full-fledged and marvelous infrastructure. All the required Drawing Halls, Class Rooms, Laboratories, Engineering Workshop, English Language Communication Skills Lab, Library, Computer Center, Internet Lab, Seminar Halls, E-class Rooms, Indoor Games and Faculty Rooms are housed in a total building space of 3,81,000 sft. OHPs/LCD projectors are established for all the classrooms to assure an effective teaching-learning process.

VCE has got a world class air-conditioned auditorium with 600 seating capacity, the hall mark of this structure is its interior design and amplified sound system. Another open auditorium with a seating capacity of 2000 for large gatherings is also available.

A spacious CENTRAL LIBRARY in an independent building with an area of 30,000 sft. spread over in TWO floors. First Floor is accommodating circulation books, book bank Books, News Papers, Back Volumes of the Periodicals. First floor is accommodating reference books, current periodicals, etc. It is having a modern infrastructure with a reading capacity of 500 students.

A campus wide fiber optic network is in place that allows faculty, staff and students to log on to the Internet at any point of time. The Internet lab powered by dedicated leased lines (40 MBPS) from Siffy and BSNL is open for students even after college hours to help them spend extra time to make use of the abundant information available on the Internet.

Four standby power generators 220 KVA, 172 KVA, 120 KV and 62.5 KV are provided in the campus to take care of the occasional power shut down due to maintenance
