The Southern Pilbara rock goanna (Varanus hamersleyensis), also known as the Hamersley Range rock monitor, is a dwarf member of the family Varanidae. It was recently separated from the Pilbara rock monitor (V. pilbarensis) on the basis of coloration and genetic studies. The species is restricted to the Hamersley Range of Western Australia.[1][2]
