Vampirina is a computer-animated Halloween fantasy musical children's television series that premiered on Disney Junior on October 1, 2017. The show is based on the Vampirina Ballerina series of books written by Anne Marie Pace and illustrated by LeUyen Pham, published by Disney-Hyperion. Disney Junior announced the series in March 2016. It features much of the staff that has worked on fellow series Doc McStuffins.[1] In January 2018, a second season was announced by Disney,[2] and the third season was announced on September 7, 2018. [3]
Premise
Vampirina follows the story of Vampirina "Vee" Hauntley who becomes a new kid on the block after she and her family move from Transylvania to Pennsylvania to open a local bed and breakfast called the Scare B&B for visiting ghouls (including vampires[4]) and goblins. The Hauntley family have to learn to do things the "Pennsylvania way", especially when Vee is at school.

Vampirina's parents surprise her with a vacation to their former home in Transylvania so that the Ghoul Girls can enter a talent contest, which the Scream Girls are also entered in. Her friends Poppy and Bridget are invited as well. An unscrupulous competitor, Poltergeist Pat, locks the Scream Girls in a dungeon so that they cannot sing, giving him a better chance to win. Vampirina, Gregoria and Demi save the Scream Girls, who perform in the show and invite the Ghoul Girls to perform with them, to the delight of the audience. Broadcast
Vampirina premiered on Sunday, October 1, 2017, in the USA with two back-to-back episodes simulcast on Disney Channel and Disney Junior. Ten of the fifteen episodes of the first season premiered within the month of October to tie into Halloween, and were also placed on Disney Junior's streaming and video on demand venues.[29] In Canada, the series released on Disney Junior on October 7, 2017. Vampirina is broadcast in 115 countries and has been translated into 15 languages.[30]
