"V Is for Mystery" is the thirteenth episode of the sixteenth season of the animated sitcom Family Guy, and the 302nd episode overall. It aired on Fox in the United States on March 25, 2018, and is written by David A. Goodman and directed by Joseph Lee.[1] The episode featured Stewie Griffin as detective Sherlock Holmes and Brian Griffin as Dr. Watson.

Plot

During a walk in a city in England while Dr. Watson (portrayed by Brian Griffin) tells Sherlock Holmes (portrayed by Stewie Griffin) his impending marriage to Constance (portrayed by Lois), a headline from a newspaper caught their attention about the stolen Crown Jewels. Holmes is convinced that Professor Moriarty is the culprit. The two catch Moriarty (portrayed by Carter Pewterschmidt) boarding a ship to America and kill him. They return the crown jewels to Queen Victoria (portrayed by Chris Griffin) as Holmes announces his retirement.

However, his retirement is short-lived as he is asked for help in solving a murder mystery wherein the murderer kills prostitutes with names starting with a "V" and used the same style of murder done by the Scottish Brute (portrayed by Peter Griffin). They visit the Scottish Brute in prison who proves he did not murder any of the victims and gets out of prison.

Meanwhile, Holmes discovers that the lock of hair discovered at the murder scene is that of a woman. Disguised as a robot prostitute named Valerie, Holmes try to lure the murderer to commit another crime. Holmes discovers that the murderer is Constance, and immediately exits as Holmes calls for Watson.

Holmes reluctantly tells Watson about his discovery and the two board a train to Paris, France to find her. They immediately find Constance after they disembark the train. They chase her down to the top of the Eiffel Tower. She leaves them a clue about the mastermind of the murders and accidentally falls to her death. Coincidentally, her falling body causes her to "photobomb" an artist's portrait.

Disguised as Queen Victoria, Holmes and Watson captures the Scottish Brute as he tries to murder the Queen as Holmes reveals that the Scottish Brute is in fact the real Professor Moriarty and that the one that was killed was one of Moriarty's henchmen. Watson credits Holmes in saving the whole British empire as Holmes roll calls all countries that were colonized by the British.
