The United Kingdom held a national preselection to choose the song that would go to the Eurovision Song Contest 1960. The semi-finals were held on 2 February and 4 February 1960 and the final was held on 6 February 1960. All were presented by David Jacobs.
"Looking High, High, High", a pop ballad, won the national final and went on to come 2nd in the Contest. This was the second time the UK came in 2nd place, it would take another few years until they finally won in 1967.

"Looking High, High, High" won the national final and went on to come 2nd in the Contest.
At Eurovision
On the night of the final Bryan Johnson performed first in the running order, preceding Sweden. At the close of the voting "Looking High, High, High" had received 25 points, placing United Kingdom 2nd of the 13 entries. The English jury awarded its highest mark (5) to contest winners France.[1]
