The eight districts of Tripura

Unakoti district is a district of Tripura, India. This district was created on 21 January 2012 when four new districts were created in Tripura, taking the number of districts in the state from four to eight.[1]

Kailashahar is its headquarters. The district was part of North Tripura district earlier. The District and divided into two sub-divisions, namely, Kailashahar and Kumarghat. For the purpose of developmental activities it is divided into three Blocks namely Kumarghat, Pecharthal and Gournagar.

The current District Magistrate and Collector is Sri P. R. Bhattacharjee[2] The current Superintendent of Police is Sri Lalhruaia Darlong.[3]
