Una-Mary Parker

Una-Mary Parker (born 30 March 1930)[1] is an English journalist and novelist.

Family

Parker is the daughter of Hugh Power and Laura Nepean Gubbins. She is a cousin of the Duchess of Cornwall.[2] She married the photographer Archie Parker on 6 October 1951.[1]

Journalism and fiction

Parker is a supporter of the Conservative Party[1] who previously worked as a journalist for the Daily Mail and Evening Standard. She also spent ten years as social editor of the British magazine, The Tatler.

Parker's first novel, Riches, appeared in October 1987 and has since become an international bestseller.[3]

Misfortunes

Parker was attacked by burglars stealing jewellery from her home in September 2010.[4]

In 2016, Parker revealed that she is suffering from glaucoma.[5]
