Ultracopier is a utility software for Windows replacing Windows explorer's built-in file copy feature (whose files copy dialogs). It supersedes SuperCopier.[4] It is cross-platform.

Features

Main features[5] include:

  • pause/resume transfers
  • dynamic speed limitation
  • on-error resume
  • error/collision management
  • data security[6]
  • intelligent reorganization of transfer to do to optimize the performance[6]

Normal version vs Ultimate version

  • The code sources are exactly the same, and under the same licence
  • The basic ultimate version just include some alternate plugin
  • The optimized ultimate version include too optimization for a cpu, but just via the CFLAGS. For Ultracopier, optimization of cpu can be useless (hdd usage, and source already optimized), that's will depends of each config.
  • All version is without DRM (this is explicited by the GPLv3 license), and haven't protection, and can be redistribued (under GNU GPLv3)

The difference between SuperCopier and Ultracopier is the skin, Supercopier is just a skin for Ultracopier in CSS (then use little bit more cpu). But talk about SuperCopier implies you refer to the v3 or less, while talk about Ultracopier implies you refer to SuperCopier v4 and later, which has been rename as Ultracopier v1.4.[7][8]

History

The Supercopier v4 soft was renamed to show that there has been a big change. All the code was written into Pascal, rather than the Ultracopier soft is written in C++, that is very much better to promote code contribution, unlike the community developer Pascal size (and skills). In addition, the v4 support most of Linux like operating systems (called "distribution" in the Unix world), and enhancement of data security.
