Tropical Storm Pakhar

The name Pakhar has been used to name one tropical cyclone in the northwestern Pacific Ocean. The name is a freshwater fish found in the Mekong River, and was submitted by Laos.

Typhoon Matsa (2005) (T0509, 09W, Gorio) – impacted China, causing about $2.2 billion in damages

The name Matsa was retired after the season and was replaced with the name Pakhar.

Tropical Storm Pakhar (2012) (T1201, 02W) – struck Vietnam.
Severe Tropical Storm Pakhar (2017) (T1714, 16W, Jolina) – impacted South China.
