Trogloarctus trionyches is a species of tardigrade in the genus Trogloarctus being the only one of the family Halechiniscidae. The species are found in the Mediterranean Sea.[1] They were first found in 1996 in an underwater cave with a deep sea like condition named Trois Pépés near La Ciotat in the Bouches-du-Rhône département (department) in France.
The specific name is Greek and means three-nailed.
