Tottempudi Gopichand (born 12 June 1979), more popularly known as Gopichand, is a Telugu film actor.

He is one of the leading heroes of Tollywood and popularly referred to as Action Star[2] and Macho Star.[3]

Early life

He is the younger son of the filmmaker T. Krishna and was 8 years old when his father died. He completed his studies in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He studied engineering degree in Russia.[7] His elder brother T. Premchand was working as an associate director to Muthyala Subbaiah. Premchand made his debut as director and started working on a film under his home banner, but he died in a car accident. Gopichand was in Russia during the death of his elder brother and could not attend his funeral due to Visa problems. He also has a younger sister, who is a dentist.[7] After completing his engineering, he decided to enter the film industry.

He did dialogue modulation course for a year. Then he made his debut as hero with the Telugu movie Tholi Valapu. In his next movie Jayam he portrayed a villain. Later on he acted as a villain in Varsham. He made re-entry as hero with the movie Yagnam which established him as an actor.His next movies were Ranam in 2006 Lakshyam in 2007,in which he improved his acting and dancing skills. His next film, Souryam, was released in September 2008. Next year, he acted in Sankham, which released on 11 September 2009. His next movie, Golimar, was released on 27 May 2010. In 2011, he acted in Mogudu and Sahasam in 2013. His biggest commercial hit was in 2014 with Loukyam . He acted in two films Jil , Soukhyam in 2015, which was a dud at box office. The year 2017 was huge success to Gopichand, where he bagged Goutham Nanda and Oxygen which were both content related. He recently started a new film, Pantham.

Personal life

He married Reshma, niece of actor Srikanth, on 12 May 2013.[8] They have a son named Virat Krishna.[6]
