Critical reception
The Times of India rated the film 2.5/5 and considered that: "Despite the commercial elements, ‘Pantham’ would’ve worked if only the screenplay and narrative were a tad bit tighter."[10]
123 Telugu rated the film 3/5 and commented that: "Pantham is a passable social drama which showcases a decent message. Even though the story is outdated, director Chakri has made sure that there is some fun in the first half and climax is satisfactory."[11]
Greatandhra rated the film 2.5/5 and considered that: "Major complaint from audiences has been Gopichand’s movies have turned too predictable of late. Still, the star is not coming out from them."[12]
First Post wrote, "Pantham’s strength lies in what it truly wants to say in the end. It calls for a systematic change in the government’s approach to governance and making politicians accountable. And it also calls out people in general for a wide range of issues. But then it does all this after ensuring that it narrates a story which is sloppy and unimaginative before it turns into a show reel of our apathy towards suffering."[13]
