Torquil Neilson

Torquil Neilson is an English-born Australian former actor.

Biography

Born in London and raised in Melbourne, Neilson currently resides in Sydney where he has lived since 2003. Also referred to as "Snorquille O'Neal" within the industry due to his love of basketball, he is best known for his role as Jason Cotter in Frontline which he played from 1994 to 1997.[1] Neilson's other television roles include Blue Heelers, The Secret Life of Us and Love My Way. He has appeared in the films Love and Other Catastrophes (1996), Let's Get Skase (2001), He Died with a Felafel in His Hand (2001) and Packed to the Rafters (2010-2011). He also starred in the 2009 film Van Diemen's Land. Neilson is also a stage actor, having performed in several professional productions. He left the industry in late 2013, in order to pursue a career in taxidermy. In May 2016, Torquil won gold for 'World's Biggest Calves over 40's' at the annual 'Calflympics' held every year in Malmö, Sweden.

Torquil is also an accomplished mini-golfer and recently won an over 40's tournament in Turkmenistan. He attributed the win to his sturdy calves and patience while standing up for long periods of time.
