Tonmnoy Tansen (born 1978) is a Bangladeshi singer and film director. He is a member of a music band Vikings established in 1997.

Band

Vikings, a popular bands in the nineties, had been out of the scene for 10 years, but returned in a somewhat unusual manner: with the music for a film, a first of its kind in Bangladesh.

Runout soundtrack

The soundtrack album of the film Runout, directed by Tonmoy Tansen (the front-man of the band), was released in the capital. Veteran journalist Rahat Khan unveiled the album, where Ayub Bachchu, film star Omar Sani, AKM Arifur Rahman, Chairman, Laser Vision (the production banner of the album) and the cast and crew of the film were present. Vikings used their standard lineup for the album, with Tonmoy on vocals, Setu on guitar, Babu on keys, Jony on bass and Saimon on drums. The soundtrack featured Kona and Rinti in two songs. Written by Rafiqul Islam, produced by Sadat Mahmud Tanvir. Model Nayla Nayem made her first big-screen appearance a song in the film.[1]

Poddo Patar Jol

Emon and Meem's film Poddo Patar Jol worked from Tansen's screenplay. Tansen directed the film based on the story of lyricist Latiful Islam Shibli. The plot is a colonial tale, with a modern approach. About the film, Emon said "This is, so far, one of the best works in my career as it required me to work really hard. I have high expectations from it." Meem said, "Audience will see me in a new avatar; it is a tale of colonial times. Its story, music and cinematography are very promising which I think will make the film stand out." Popular singers and music directors including Ahmed Imtiaz Bulbul, Arnob, SI Tutul, Adit, bands Shironamhin and Chirkutt provided music for the film.[2]

Run Out

Run Out is a Bangladeshi action romance film written by Rafiqul Islam Poltu and directed by Tansen. presented by Sadat Mahmud Tanvir as a production of New Gen Entertainment. Development began in February 2012.[2]
