Thomas Callaghan (1886 – 20 February 1917) was an English professional football outside right who played in the Football League for Glossop and Manchester City.[1][4] He also played in the Scottish Football League for Partick Thistle and St Mirren.[3]

Personal life

In March 1916, in the middle of the First World War, Callaghan enlisted in the British Army.[5] He served as a private in the Somerset Light Infantry and the London Regiment and was killed by German shellfire at Hill 60, Belgium on 2 February 1917.[3] He was buried in Chester Farm Cemetery near Ypres.[2]
