Thomas Edward Holland (born 22 April 1997) is an English professional footballer who plays as a central midfielder for The New Saints in the Welsh Premier League.

Early life

Holland was born in Leeds and was educated at St Marys Comprehensive Roman Catholic School in Menston, Ilkley.

Club career

He started his youth career with Bradford City at the age of seven playing in their Under 9's team. In November 2007 he left Bradford City to continue his development with Leeds United where he remained until the age of 11. In September 2011 he moved to Manchester City joining their Under-15 academy team. In 2012 he captained the Manchester City Under-15 academy team at the Lion City Cup tournament held in Singapore. In the same year he made his debut for Manchester City's Under-18 academy team against Benfica in Portugal and went on to captain their Under-16's during the following season. In July 2013 he signed a two year scholarship with Manchester City.[1].

After impressing in a trial game for Swansea City Under-21s against Leeds United's U21s in March 2015, Holland was offered and signed a two year professional contract with Swansea City's development squad.[2] He scored his first goal for Swansea Under 23's against Scottish Championship side Morton in July 2016. During the 2016/17 season Holland made five appearances in the Checkatrade Trophy.

He had spells on loan with Eastleigh in the National League[3] and AFC Fylde in the National League North.[4] Following his return from loan he was released by Swansea at the end of the 2016–17 season.[5]

In June 2017 he signed professional terms with the Welsh Premier League Champions The New Saints.[6]

International career

In September 2013 made his debut for the Republic of Ireland Under 17 team against Slovakia. He made a further nine appearances with the team advacing to the group stages of the UEFA U17's Championships.[7]

The 2014-15 season saw Holland representing the Republic of Ireland Under 18 team against Luxemburg.

During the 2015-16 season. Holland scored the only goal for the Republic of Ireland Under 19 team in their 2-1 defeat to Italy.[8]
