James Todd Newton (born May 5, 1970) is an American entertainment personality, a Daytime Emmy winning game show host, and author/speaker.[1]

Career

Newton started his entertainment career at age sixteen as a disc jockey for Kincaid Entertainment in St. Louis, working for brothers Doug Kincaid and William Kincaid. Later, the Kincaid brothers found a small role for him on their popular KMOV children's television show Gator Tales.[2]

While visiting Los Angeles in 1994 to host a movie junket for a St. Louis television station, Newton — then a local disc jockey known as Rikk Idol — used the last of his travel money to hire a taxi to take him to the offices of various agents around Hollywood. He eventually signed with Abrams, Rubaloff, & Lawrence and was tapped as a host on E! Entertainment Television in 1995.[3]

He hosted Hasbro Studios' popular Family Game Night and the syndicated Monopoly Millionaires' Club.

Newton has also hosted such productions including GSN's Hollywood Showdown, Made in the USA, World's Wildest Game Shows, and Whammy! The All-New Press Your Luck.[4]

The Host With The Most® currently tours North America as host of The Price Is Right Live!, an interactive theatrical production of the television game show. He is an avid supporter and celebrity spokesperson for animal rescue organizations nationwide.
