Tingena armigerella is a species of moth in the family Oecophoridae. It was described by Francis Walker in 1864 and named Oecophora armigerella.[2] It is endemic to New Zealand.[1] This species is found throughout the North Island.[3] It is visually very similar to other yellow species but differs from many of these as it has noticeable dark scales on its wings.[3] It has been hypothesised that observations of T. armigerella in the South Island result from misidentification with these visually similar yellow species.[3]

Larvae feed on plant litter found in Nothofagaceae forest.[4]
