Tim Steiner OBE (born December 1969) is a British businessman, and the co-founder and chief executive (CEO) of Ocado, the FTSE 100 British online supermarket.
Early life
Tim Steiner was born in December 1969.[1] He was educated at Haberdashers' Aske's Boys' School in Elstree, Hertfordshire, followed by a bachelor's degree in economics, finance and accountancy from University of Manchester.[2][3] His great-grandfather founded Steiner Group which becameSteiner Leisure, a NASDAQ-traded beauty spa products company.[2]
Career
Steiner was employed by Goldman Sachs as a bond trader in London, New York and Hong Kong for eight years, before co-founding Ocado in 2000 with Jonathan Faiman and Jason Gissing.[3]
In February 2017, he received £1.2 million in Ocado shares. as part of an incentive scheme. [4]
In January 2018, he was part of a scandal involving sexual harassment at a charity evening at the President's Club [5]. He refused to answer journalists' questions about the event.
Personal life
In 1989, Steiner married Belinda at Hampstead Garden Suburb Synagogue, who worked in public relations.[6][7]
Steiner has four children with his wife Belinda, from whom he separated in 2013 after 14 years of marriage, two years later, he moved in with the Polish model Patrycja Pyka, two decades his junior.[3][4] In a July 2016 High Court hearing, the judge agreed to keep the divorce details private, and that no detail could be reported.[8]
Steiner lived in Highgate, London, until the split from his wife.[3] He has an estimated net worth of about £125 million in 2018.[9][6]
