Thymophylla pentachaeta, also known as fiveneedle pricklyleaf,^[1] golden dyssodia or dogweed, is a perennial or subshrub in the Asteraceae family. The species is native to the southwestern United States and Mexico.

Four varieties are recognised:

T. pentachaeta var. belenidium
T. pentachaeta var. hartwegii
T. pentachaeta var. pentachaeta
T. pentachaeta var. puberula
