Thiruppuvanam is a panchayat town, in Manamadurai Division, Sivaganga district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.[1][2][3] The town is famous for Sri Pushpavaneswarar Temple, which is one of the Padal Petra Shiva sthalams. [4]
Location
Thiruppuvanam is situated nearby the Temple city of Madurai. on Madurai-Rameswaram National Highway and 18 km to the east of Madurai. Thiruppuvanam falls under Manamadurai assembly.
Demographics
As of 2011 India census,[5] Thiruppuvanam had a population of 21,435. Males constitute 50% of the population and females 50%. Thiruppuvanam has an average literacy rate of 74%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 81%, and female literacy is 66%.
