Thereza Grisólia Tang

Thereza Grisólia Tang (February 10, 1922 - October 17, 2009) became the first female judge in Brazil in 1954.[1][2][3][4] She became the substitute judge of the 12th circuit of Santa Catarina.[4] From 1989 to 1990 she presided over the Supreme Court of Santa Catarina.[5] At the age of seventy she was required to retire, which she regretted. She had Parkinson's disease and eventually died aged 87 due to pancreatic cancer.[5]
