The Sacrament of Sin is the seventh studio album by German power metal band Powerwolf,[3][4] released on 20 July 2018 through Napalm Records. The album was recorded at Fascination Street Studios in Örebro, Sweden with producer Jens Bogren. Official videos were released for "Demons Are a Girl's Best Friend" and "Fire & Forgive".

Matthew Greywolf said in an interview regarding the album:

"I would say the approach was to expand the territory a bit, I think ‘The Sacrament of Sin’ has become the most diverse Powerwolf album with the most variation in the music and a lot of new elements in our sound. At the same time, I think it’s become a pretty typical Powerwolf album in terms of atmosphere and power and character."[5]

A limited edition mediabook version also features a second disc named Communio Lupatum, which features Powerwolf songs covered by other artists selected by the band members.[6]

On September 14, 2018, the album won a German Metal Hammer Award for Best Album.[7]
