The Return of Josey Wales is a 1986 American Western film directed by and starring Michael Parks.[2][3] It is a sequel to Clint Eastwood's The Outlaw Josey Wales (1976) , which was in turn based on the Forrest Carter 1973 novel The Rebel Outlaw: Josey Wales[4]
The Return of Josey Wales adapted Carter's second Wales novel, The Vengeance Trail of Josey Wales. Eastwood had planned to adapt The Vengeance Trail of Josey Wales himself as his own sequel to the original film, but his project was eventually cancelled.[5]
