The Quiet Man is an under-production action-adventure video game title for PS4 and Windows. Developed by Square Enix and Human Head Studios; the game is said to be playable in one sitting.[1][2][3]
Plot
The story is set in New York City featuring a deaf protagonist.
Marketing
The game was announced on June 11, 2018 at Square Enix's half-hour press conference at E3 video game trade event held in Los Angeles by revealing a short cinematic teaser trailer of about one-minute length which simultaneously switched between live-action and in-game CGI scenes ending with the tagline: "Silence rings loudest" and spoke of revealing further information in August 2018.[4][5][6][7][8][9][10] To give people an insight of the game's concept, a series of planned producer letters by Kensei Fujinaga were posted to the game's official twitter handle. The first one dated July 2, 2018 explains the power of words.[11][12][13][14] After which producer Kensei Fujinaga hosted a special livestream, via YouTube and Niconico, showcasing the gameplay of the game on August 9, 2018 in Japan.[15]
Reception
The teaser trailer received a mixed reception. Shack News, Press-Start and ComicsBeat called it interesting.[16][17][18] Polygon, SegmentNext and Screen Rant called it conceptually intriguing.[19][20][21] Destructoid called it bizarre.[22] The Ball State Daily News called it bad.[23] According to Techraptor, the concept of transitioning cinematic live-action and in-game CGI had been implemented before in video games.[24]
