Plot

When a group of teenage friends go on a spring break camping trip, an unfortunate accident sets off a race against time to save their friend's most prized possession.

Production

In January 2017, it was reported that Netflix had won a bidding war for Eggplant Emoji, a spec script by Kevin Burrows and Matt Mider.^[1] In July 2017, it was announced that Jake Szymanski would direct the film.^[2] In August 2017, Daniel Doheny, Sadie Calvano, Geraldine Viswanathan, Luke Spencer Roberts, and Eduardo Franco joined the cast of the film.^[3] The film was later re-titled The Package.^[4]

The film was released on August 10, 2018 on Netflix.^[5]
