"The Other Guy" is a song by Australian soft rock band Little River Band. It was an advance single from their 1982 Greatest Hits album, included among their greatest hits in anticipation of the song's success. The song also introduced the band's new lead vocalist, John Farnham, who replaced Glenn Shorrock.[1]

Released as a single in the fall of 1982, the song peaked at number 11 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100[2] and number eight on the Cash Box Top 100 during February of 1983.[3] The song also reached #6 on the Adult Contemporary chart. It made a lesser showing in Canada, but reached both the Pop and AC charts.

"The Other Guy" also charted outside North America, reaching the Top 20 in Australia and the Netherlands. It did best in New Zealand, where it spent two weeks at #2.[4]
