The Hand That Rocks the Cradle (poem)

"The Hand That Rocks the Cradle Is the Hand That Rules the World" is a poem by William Ross Wallace that praises motherhood as the preeminent force for change in the world. The poem was first published in 1865 under the title "What Rules the World".[1] The refrain of the poem is a commonly quoted phrase.[2]

Novel

In Thailand, the Thai author pennamed "Nam Obb" (Thai: น้ำอบ) wrote her novel by the translation of "Is the hand that rules the world.", Khe Hatta Khrong Pipop in 1994.

Film

The title of the poem was spoken in reference to a large Irishman in the 1935 film "The Informant," after he punches two men unconscious in the street.

In the United States, the poem inspired the drama thrilling movie made by Hollywood Pictures in 1992 by the name "The Hand That Rocks the Cradle".

In Thailand, the movie based upon the plot of the novel "Khe Hatta Khrong Pipop" written by Nam Obb in 1994 was made in 1994 by the Thai movie production company, Daravideo.

Later in 2013, the movie with nearly the same name, except adding "Job Sakon" (Thai: จบสากล), which means "End of Internationality" but with the same plot, and characters was remade by the Thai movie production company, Dida Video Production, the company that has diverged from Daravideo with all new sets of cast.
