The Famuan

The newspaper The Famuan was established more than 100 years ago and has a circulation of about 8,000, serving Florida A&M University and the greater Tallahassee community.

The Famuan is the student-ran campus newspaper at Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, Florida. The newspaper has news, opinion, lifestyles and sports sections. The newspaper also publishes a graduation issue for seniors (spring) and a survival guide (fall) for new students each year.[1]

The Famuan was once published in print three times a week[1] on Monday, Wednesday and Friday during the fall and spring semesters. In 2014, The Famuan briefly become an all-digital, multimedia outlet via their website, www.thefamuanonline.com, [2] which continues to be updated with new FAMU and Tallahassee Community news.

The move to all-digital was taken largely as a cost-saving measure at the time. [3] But The Famuan has since reintroduced a print edition with a limited press run as well.

The Famuan is one of four student media outlets at FAMU, the others are Journey magazine, FAMU TV-20 and WANM 90.5 The Flava Station.
