The Dualers are a 9 piece ska / reggae band from South East London. They first hit the headlines when the single Kiss on the Lips stormed in to the UK top 30 despite no industry backing. With a number of album releases, several top 40 chart singles and a large worldwide fan base behind them their success has continued. The Dualers unique Jamaican style rhythm & blues sound teamed with their lively vibrant performances has seen the band consistently perform to sell-out crowds all over the UK, Europe & Asia.

History

Lead singer and founding member Tyber Cranstoun's love for Ska and Reggae music developed from a very early age. His father, Bill was a local promoter of Jamaican music in the 1960s and ran his Savoy Sound System at several locations in south London. After graduating from Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Tyber began busking with his brother Si Cranstoun on the streets of Canterbury and South London where his distinctive vocals and lively performances soon began to draw in large audiences.[1] With an ever increasing fan base developing Tyber seconded a group of musicians and together, began writing their own songs and performing them live to audiences across the south-east.

As The Dualers, they progressed to performing alongside some of the biggest names in Ska and Reggae including The Skatalites, Prince Buster, Toots and The Maytals, Ziggy Marley, Jimmy Cliff, UB40 and Madness. In 2004 they sent shock waves through the music industry when their single Kiss On The Lips entered the UK charts at #21 despite no national airplay or professional backing. Their next release 'Truly Madly Deeply' charted at #23 and featured in the Hollywood blockbuster Fools Gold starring Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey. The Dualers success has continued to build and their recent record breaking 7th sell out show at indigo at the 02 in Greenwich was used as a launch pad to release their latest album Back to Paradise. The new album has 15 new original tracks and is a tribute to his Fathers dedication to bringing Jamaican music to the rest of the world. Although the songs are based on Tyber’s early musical influences the album produces an emphatic fusion of the authentic Jamaican sound with a modern twist which has seen it receive rave reviews from fans and critics alike.

The Sun said "Once you start dancing to The Dualers it’s impossible to stop" and The Independent wrote "These local superstars are inching towards fame"
