History

The Delta Saints formed in 2007 when Ben Ringel and David Supica [1] met at Belmont University and began creating music together. Ringel and Supica then teamed up with guitarist Matt Bray, and drummer Ben Azzi followed by harmonica player Greg Hommert. The five-piece band began writing music and playing clubs in Nashville together.

Early career

The Delta Saints’ first independently produced EP Pray On was released in 2009, followed by A Bird Called Angola which was also independently released in 2010. After that, the band began touring internationally throughout North America and Europe and in 2011, the French-blues label Dixie Frog combined the two EP's into one self-titled album. The Delta Saints was released exclusively in Europe in 2011 followed by extensive touring of the continent.

Death Letter Jubilee

The band released their first studio album Death Letter Jubilee in 2013.[2] The album was financed using Kickstarter, a crowdfunding company, and helped the band develop a solid European fan base. In 2014, The Delta Saints toured with Blackberry Smoke in support of the record. That year, Nate Kremer joined the group on keys following the departure of Greg Hommert

Bones

In 2015, the band released their second studio album Bones on Loud & Proud Records.[3] With the addition of Nate’s keyboard and writing style, Bones marked a shift in the band’s sound from blusey, harmonica-driven roots, to synth and fuzzed out guitar psychedelia. "Sometimes I Worry,” a track off of the album, landed a prominent placement on the most recent season of Showtime’s Shameless. Shortly before the release of the album, Vince Williams became the band's drummer and The Delta Saints toured the US and Europe extensively.

Monte Vista

The Delta Saints independently released their third studio album, Monte Vista, on April 28, 2017.[4] Monte Vista was recorded in six days at the Sound Emporium in Nashville and was produced by Eddie Spear. The band also partnered with PledgeMusic for the release.[5] This album marked a sonic evolution for The Delta Saints as they expanded from their signature Bayou-blues sound to home in on rock ‘n’ roll. Lead single “California[6] off Monte Vista is an anthem for throwing caution to the wind, skipping town and setting out to find something more that embodies the restless and searching spirit of Monte Vista, a collection of coming-of-age ruminations on life, love, self-discovery and the world at large.

Additional releases

The Delta Saints released an EP entitled Drink It Slow during 2014. A few months after that release, the band released Live at Exit/In, recorded during a sold-out two-night stand at one of the band’s favorite clubs in Nashville.
