The British School Warsaw is an international school in Warsaw, Poland. It was established in 1992 and currently has over 1200 students with 60 different nationalities. The British School, Warsaw is part of Nord Anglia Education Group. The school follows the English National Curriculum, adapted to the needs of the international student community, from Early Years to the Primary and Secondary Key Stages, the IGCSE examinations and a well established International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme. The Principal of the school is Alun Yorath. The teaching staff are recruited from overseas and are primarily UK trained. The British School offers education to students aged 2 ½ to 18 years.

Campus

The British School, Warsaw Early Years Centre is located in Stary Mokotów district and caters for children from age 2 ½ to 6. The Centre is on ul. Dabrowskiego, where classrooms are surrounded by a large playground, garden and wooded area. The British School’s Primary and Secondary campus, for students from 6 years up to age 18 is located on ul. Limanowskiego in Mokotów.[1]

Facilities

Early Years Centre

The British School Early Years Centre is designed around a central hall, with classes grouped by age. Every classroom is fitted with an interactive whiteboard and laptops and iPads are available to support learning. There is a gymnasium hall and a separate music room, equipped with piano, musical instruments and a sound system to enhance the creative and expressive development of students. The class teachers are supported by a specialist English Learning Support teacher as well as a Learning Support Teacher who helps to accelerate the learning of students who require extra support. The outdoor facilities of the school include play equipment used to enhance the educational opportunities and play activities for children.

Main Campus

The British School main site offers learning facilities for academic work including: Primary and Secondary Libraries; IB Learning Centre for senior students; indoor and outdoor play facilities; sports halls; art rooms; music technology suite, music rooms and practice rooms; science laboratories and ICT suites and mobile computer facilities, linked to a fully functional wireless (wi-fi) system across the school.

Results and University Destinations

Year by year, IGCSE and IB results at The British School, Warsaw exceed the world average. After graduating from the school students continue their education at top universities around the world including University of Oxford, University of Cambridge, London School of Economics, University College London, New York University, Princeton University and other high ranking universities across the world.
