Background and Style

Initially filmed for private consumption, Ivan Kral used silent camera for all of the concert footage. Together with filmmaker Amos Poe, he edited the images together with demo recordings of the various bands, resulting in a film that lies somewhere between a Rockumentary and series of music videos. The divorce of sound and image was inspired by Jean-Luc Godard and the French New Wave as a way to alienate the audience and make them hyper-aware that they were watching a film.
