The Amrita was a pop-up and naked restaurant which opened in Tokyo, Japan on 29 July 2016.[2][3] Its name is sanskrit for "nectar of immortality".[4]

Rules of entry

The Amrita has strict rules for its naked party:[2]

  • There are age limits (from 20 years old to 120 years old). Those who are 20 years old or less are not able to enter the restaurant.
  • Weight limit, where those who are more than 15 kilograms (33 lb) above the average weight for height can not enter the restaurant.
  • Attractive people who exceed the weight limitation may be allowed entry (at the restaurant's own discretion).
  • Diners have to wear disposable underwear made of paper prepared by the restaurant.
  • Visitors are not to 'cause a nuisance to other diners' by touching or talking to fellow diners.
  • Tattooed customers are barred from entry.
  • Diners who meet the restaurant's entry requirements will be asked to lock away mobile phones and cameras in a table-top box.

Tickets

  • Guests will fork out up to 80,000 yen ($750) for tickets entitling them to eat food served by musclebound men wearing G-strings and watch a dance show featuring male models.[4]
  • Another option is meal tickets, not including a show, will cost from 14,000 to 28,000 yen depending on choice of menu.
