Thank You & Goodnight is the seventh studio album by Irish boy band Boyzone, which will be released on 16 November 2018.[2][3]
Background
In December 2017, it was announced that the album had been finalized and was ready for release in 2018.[4] In April 2018, it was confirmed that Boyzone will be releasing a new studio album and will tour the UK in 2019 with arena shows.[5][6][7] Keith Duffy announced in March 2017 that Boyzone had a signed a contract with Warner Music for an album and an arena tour.[8][9][10]
The album will have an 'urban' influence, as opposed to the usual ballads the band is famous for singing, and there will be no covers.[11][12] Shane Lynch has said the album will be similar in style to that of American singer Charlie Puth.[13]
Gary Barlow, Sam Smith, Calum Scott and Ed Sheeran have written some materials for the album.[14][15][16]
Singles
"I Can Dream" (later re-titled "Dream") was released on 15 June 2018. It features the vocals of late Stephen Gately, who also co-wrote the song. According to Ronan Keating they found an old tape with a song that Gately had written 15 years earlier: "So we pulled out Stephen’s vocals and we all wrote some parts and create this new song with Stephen on the chorus now called ‘I can dream’... that was amazing for us."[17]
The albums first single, "Because", was released on 26 July 2018.[18] The second single from the album, "Love" was released on 4 October 2018.[19]
Tour
The band will embark on the Thank You & Goodnight Tour to promote the album, which is also set to be their tour.[20][21][22]
