Thalassery (Assembly constituency)

Thalassery Assembly Constituency of Kerala Legislative Assembly consist of Thalassery Municipality and Chockli, Eranholi, Kadirur, New Mahe and Panniyannur Panchayats.[1] Kodiyeri Balakrishnan(Minister for Home and Tourism) is representing this constituency from 2001.[2] M V Rajagopalan elected in by election in 1979 and again in 1980 in general election. Kodiyeri Balakrishnan got married his daughter Vinodini in 1980. Rajagopalan known as Raju master in Kannur Dist. In 1981 he was brutally attacked by RSS and undergone treatment for one year. later he backed up from active politics. And died in 1986. His wife Seethalakshmi and have six children. Santhosh Kumar, Vinodini, Prem Kumar, Aruna, Lilly and Vinaya Kumar.
