Ternavka (Ukrainian: Терна́вка) village (selo) in the Lviv Oblast (province) of western Ukraine. It is located in the Skolivskyi district (Skole Raion) in the Ukrainian Carpathians within the limits the Eastern Beskids on the border of the Zakarpattia Oblast.
The village Ternavka is situated in the 143 kilometres (89 mi) from the regional center Lviv, 35 kilometres (22 mi) from the district center Skole. Local government Lavochnenska village council.[1]

History

The first written mention of Ternavka which dates from the year 1597.[2] During the World War I, the village and the church were destroyed as a result of the fighting. In 1921 the church was restored. During World War II, more than 1,000 Jews were murdered in the Antonovka Forest near the town.


Attractions

The village has three sites of architectural importance in the Skole district.

  • Church of the Introduction of the Blessed Virgin in the Temple 1921 (2924/1-М)[3]
  • The bell tower churches of the Introduction of the Blessed Virgin in the Temple (wood) 1921 (2924/2-М)
  • School building 1915, 1939 (1923-М).
