Roma Laziali is a railway station in Rome. Originally the first station of the now defunct Rome–Fiuggi–Alatri–Frosinone railway, it currently services the Rome-Giardinetti railway. In the future, it will be completely dismantled or possibly transformed into a new Metro Line or Tram Line.[1][2][3]

The station is on the right side of Roma Termini railway station at a distance of 400 meters from its main entrance.

History

The first, original station was demolished because of reconstruction work at Roma Termini railway station, and the entire line risked closure. In the same year, the station was reconstructed 400m back.[4]

In 1983, two tracks were removed for extra urban trains. From that year, the line arrived in Centocelle, then from 2009 in Giardinetti and again from 2015 only in Centocelle.

Management

In past years, the line was managed by different companies: SFV; STEFER; Met.Ro and from 2009 ATAC, the current company that regulates and manages all the public transportation and urban railways of Rome. In the 1920s, the line was not only used by people, but also to transport goods. This situation was then resolved by the suppression of the switch and its reactivation on the Frosinone side.
