Tenshin Nasukawa (Kanji:那須川 天心; born 18 August 1998) is a Japanese kickboxer, fighting out of Tokyo, Japan. Tenshin is the current RISE Bantamweight champion[2]. As of 1 September 2018, he is ranked the #9 bantamweight in the world by Combat Press.[3]

He became famous due to his knockout victories over the former IBF Boxing World champion Amnat Ruenroeng and Lumpinee Stadium Champion Wanchalong. The latter was chosen as the 2016 knockout of the year by Combatpress.com.[4]

Background

He amassed an amateur record of 99-5 by the age of 18 before turned professional in kickboxing. He made a name for himself after knocking out Wanchalong PKSenchaigym with weight advantage and this fight wanchalong injuries before fight, who was the multiple Bangkok Lumpinee and Channel 7 champion, with a swivel kick when Nasukawa was still a high school student.[5][6][7]He started to compete in kickboxing and MMA where he was signed by RIZIN MMA promotion in Japan.[8][9]

Career

Nasukawa is expected to face the current RIZIN Bantamweight Champion Kyoji Horiguchi on 30 September 2018 at RIZIN 13. The bout is set to be contested under kickboxing rules.[10]

Fighting style

Nasukawa is a southpaw fighter and his fighting style is the combination of kickboxing, Full Contact Karate , both of which he has learned and competed in since a very young age.[13]
