Tedjo Edhy Purdijatno

Tedjo Edhy Purdijatno (born September 20, 1952 in Magelang, Indonesia) is an Indonesian politician and retired Naval officer.[1][2] He was the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia from 27 October 2014 to 12 August 2015. Tedjo was also the Chief of Naval Operations (KSAL) from 2008-2009.[3][4]

Education

Tedjo completed his military education at the Indonesian Naval Academy 1975. He also obtained a law degree from Hang tuah University, Surabaya in 2001.

Career

Tedjo had served for 14 years in Indonesian Navy. Then began in 1982 served in KRI, among others, as Paluka KRI Teluk Penyu (513) Amphibious Unit Armatim. Then Commander KRI Teluk Lampung (540) Satlinlamil Surabaya, Commander KRI Teluk Semangka (512) Satfib Armatim, and Commander KRI Multatuli (561) Satfib Armatim.

He was inaugurated on July 1, 2008 by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, replacing Rear Admiral Sumardjono who retired. Previously Tedjo Edhy served as Chief of Indonesian National Armed Forces.

Rear Admiral Tedjo Edhy Purdijatno was officially replaced as Chief of Naval Staff by Admiral Agus Suhartono on 13 November 2009.[5]
